Description

This well-loved foothills concert venue is a birding hotspot, especially in the late spring. We will check the Trading Post feeders and look for migrating and breeding birds, as well as peregrine and prairie falcons that have often nested at Red Rocks. Plan to walk and drive along park roads and expect to hike some easy to moderate trails (up to 1 mile).

Meeting Place: Trading Post parking lot at Red Rocks Park. Take I-70 west, exit 259, go south on Hwy 93, 1.5 miles to park entrance #1. Follow road up to Trading Post parking lot. You can also access Red Rocks from C-470 by taking Hwy 8 (through Morrison) or from Hwy 285, by taking Hwy 8 north to Hwy 74, then west to the south entrance #3.

Leaders: Audubon Master Birders: Marilyn Rhodes and Bob Santangelo.

Registration Required. No fee, but donations to ASGD are appreciated.
