Description

The Denver Audubon Community Naturalist Training is a one-of-a-kind adult training program highlighting the plants, animals, and ecosystems of the Colorado Front Range over the course of 12 months. Classes for the 2020-2021 year will consist of virtual workshops over ZOOM, combined with small in-person learning cohorts for some in-person field trip opportunities including Mt. Evans, Echo Lake, Genesee Mountain Park, Roxborough State Park, and the Audubon Center at Chatfield. Topics of study include geology, botany, mycology, meteorology, astronomy, ecology, wildlife rehabilitation, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and conservation in Colorado.

Classes will be happening virtually on certain Thursday nights with Saturday field trips throughout the year.

Field trip locations are mostly flat trails and accessible, though arrangements can be made if additional assistance is needed.
