Event Registration

Join us for an opportunity to witness sharp-tailed grouse dancing on a Colorado lek. We will listen and scope view from a county road at dawn using our cars as a blind.  Low light, sun glare and distance from the lek make difficult conditions for photography but satisfactory personal viewing. After dawn, we bird the adjoining grasslands for prairie birds such as Chestnut-collared and McGown's longspurs and Mountain Plovers before making our way south to Denver.   We will visit wetlands and ponds for water birds and migrating songbirds. We may find a lunch stop on the homeward trek, but packing edibles for breakfast and lunch is a good idea.
